Experts discussed that governments can create an enabling environment for sustainable private investments through many means – clarifying land tenure, aligning subsidies with sustainable development objectives, promoting green financial instruments and creating platforms for fostering cooperation. Agriculture and forestry are economic drivers in the ASEAN region. To avoid further degrading our natural resources, combating climate change and securing local livelihoods more sustainable investments are needed.
